Project Management

I can administer complex projects from concept to completion by coordinating with staff, partners and stakeholders to set goals, plan and problem solve, and manage people, vendors, budgets and time. Projects I managed range from website redesigns for large and small companies, technology conversions, statewide conferences and regional workshops, marketing and membership campaigns.

I have directed and managed the communication needs for organizations with diverse audiences, specializing in nonprofits and small businesses. My skills include: marketing, graphic design, public relations, print and web copy writing, editing, proofreading, grant writing, community outreach, audio and video production, utilization of social media tools and strategies for audience engagement. I also develop and deliver training programs.

Valuable for any organization’s digital presence is my knowledge and practice in managing websites and online tools for email newsletters, surveys, events, blogs, social media, customer relationship and document management. Skills include website design, hosting and DNS management, HTML/CSS coding, SEO, web analytics, content management systems, accessibility and usability standards, and fluency in many native and web-based applications.

The Yellow Ladyslipper Creative Moniker

Inspired by a beautiful and complicated natural world

I use my skills to help people communicate effectively, and this expertise has been applied in areas ranging from health care, technology, environmental conservation, community development and small business promotion. The intent of this website is to showcase my work, but it also reflects an appreciation of the natural world; the observation skills I developed from early career endeavors studying plant and animal behaviors are applicable across any field of work.

The moniker Yellow Ladyslipper Creative was conceived after I located an elusive native orchid—the yellow lady’s slipper—in a black fly-infested woodland seep in Eden, Vermont. It was an awe-inspiring experience that personified my persistence, curiosity, openness to new challenges and desire to solve problems, qualities that are a part of everything I do.

"The voyage of discovery is not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes."
